DEVILLED PORK CHOPS

Ingredients
1tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 thick pork chops
Sauce
1 tablespoon chilli sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons dried prepared mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon salt
4 fl. Oz water
1½ tablespoon black treacle

Method
In a large frying pan heat the butter and oil over a moderate heat. When the foam subsides add the chops and cook them for 5 minutes each side or
until lightly browned.

Meanwhile combine all the ingredients for the sauce and pour over the chops. Cover pan and cook for 40 minutes or until meat is thoroughly cooked.
Remove from heat, turn the chops and sauce into a warm serving dish. Serve immediately.
